Tony Jimenez is an acclaimed sports photographer and visual storyteller based in the Pacific Northwest. A retired United States Air Force Master Sergeant and former Combat Rescue Aerial Gunner (1A7X1). Tony flew under the callsign "VATO" and in 2009 he discovered a passion for photography by striving to capture quiet, reflective moments during his deployments. During his service in Iraq, Afghanistan, Libya, and the Horn of Africa, Tony expanded his craft to action photography, mastering the art of documenting intensity, energy, and raw emotion.
After retiring from the military, Tony turned his lens toward his daughter's softball journey, sparking a passion for capturing athletes striving to achieve greatness while building camaraderie. Today, he travels nationwide, looking to document athletes' passion for competition and honing of their skills, while striving to reach their full potential. From the quiet moments pregame, to the heart pounding action, every athlete's journey is unique.
Tony’s work has been featured by major athletic brands, but his goal is to ensure his images resonate with the viewers. His work tells powerful stories of human effort and achievement. From the powdered dust of Afghanistan to the dirt of the softball diamond, Tony’s photography invites viewers to create their own narratives while preserving memories for his subjects.
